Job summary

Baily Garner LLP seeks a Head of Commercial to lead our Commercial & Strategic Cost Management service line, delivering strategic guidance to housing associations, local authorities, and public sector clients across the UK.

You will drive major investment decisions, mentor high-performing teams, and build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders while fostering growth and collaboration within a values-driven consultancy.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in consultancy, client-side, contractor or public sector environments.
• Extensive knowledge of target cost and open-book commercial models.
• Strong social housing sector experience.
• Proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
• Experience leading, mentoring and developing high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a growing team of Commercial and Cost Management professionals.
• Engage significantly with Independent Partnering Advisors and People & Culture pillars.
• Drive service innovation and best practice across the business.
• Act as the senior commercial lead on key client commissions.
• Support strategic business development and client retention.
• Influence major investment decisions affecting thousands of homes across the UK.
• Support business growth aspirations to develop opportunities outside the social housing sector.
