Job summary

Cala Homes is seeking a Commercial Manager to lead the regional buying and surveying team and drive robust commercial control across residential development projects. You will develop budgets, forecasts and procurement strategies while ensuring governance and achievement of business objectives.

As a key member of the team, you will collaborate with Sales, Land, Construction and external consultants, manage post‑contract commercial work and provide accurate cost reporting to support strategic

Qualifications

Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
Strong commercial management experience within residential development or construction.
Good technical knowledge with Building Regulations and NHBC standards.
Knowledge of standard forms of contract and subcontract arrangements.
Proven experience leading, managing, and motivating commercial teams.
Strong commercial awareness and ability to present cost reports and forecasts.

Responsibilities

Provide day‑to‑day leadership for the buying and surveying team.
Develop and manage accurate budgets, forecasts and cost control measures.
Prepare Board papers, reports, and commercial updates.
Lead subcontractor procurement, including ordering, valuation and disputes resolution.
Monitor site performance against budgets and financial targets.
Liaise with Sales, Land, Construction, Technical, Architects and Consultants.
