Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is representing an award-winning civil engineering contractor based in Fleet seeking a Commercial Director to own the commercial function and drive profitable growth across a portfolio of projects.

The role requires senior leadership, strategic commercial direction, and the ability to deliver projects on time and within budget, while strengthening client and subcontractor relationships.

Qualifications

• Extensive commercial management experience within civil engineering or construction.
• Experience at senior commercial leadership level (Commercial Director/Manager).
• Degree qualified or equivalent professional experience.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the commercial function and strategy of the business.
• Provide senior commercial leadership across civil engineering projects.
• Lead and develop the commercial team including QS, costing staff and planners.
• Establish robust commercial procedures, systems and governance across the business.
• Oversee project profitability, forecasting, cashflow and WIP.
• Drive margin improvement and risk management across projects.
• Provide commercial oversight throughout project lifecycles and on major tenders.
