Job summary

The role reports to the Managing Director and chairs the senior leadership team, with oversight of a commercial team and strategic development of tenders.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified or equivalent professional experience
• Extensive commercial management experience in civil engineering/construction
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management
• Contractual knowledge across NEC/JCT/bespoke forms

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial function and strategy across civil engineering projects
• Oversee profitability, forecasting, cashflow, WIP and commercial reporting
• Develop and manage the commercial team including QS and cost staff
• Drive margin improvement, cost control and risk management
• Build relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers
