Job summary

AWE plc is seeking a Commercial Capability Manager in Reading, Berkshire. The role focuses on developing a comprehensive capability framework with training, mentoring, and development programs to close skill gaps across Commercial functions.

You will partner with department heads to tailor development plans, manage training resources and budgets, and align with HR and talent teams to support employee growth.

Qualifications

• Proven professional experience.
• Experience in a Procurement / Commercial function.
• Experience within HR or related functions focusing on skills and development.
• High proficiency in stakeholder management and influencing decisions.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong management and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain records.
• Able to engage colleagues across teams and levels of seniority.
• Ability to work collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Develop and embed a full capability framework covering competencies, training, development and mentoring.
• Identify and evaluate skill gaps within Commercial and implement training programmes.
• Work with department heads to define required knowledge for each role and create development plans.
• Report to Senior Capability Manager.
