Job summary

Clear Legal & Financial Recruitment is seeking an experienced Client Manager to join our growing accountancy practice in the UK. You will manage a diverse portfolio of SME and owner-managed clients, delivering high‑level accountancy and tax advisory services, and driving commercial outcomes.

You will build strong client relationships, review accounts and tax returns, and support junior staff while collaborating with partners and senior managers to enhance service delivery.

Qualifications

• ACCA and/or CTA qualified (or qualified by experience)
• 5+ years experience within a UK accountancy practice environment
• Strong experience managing a portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients
• Good knowledge of accounts preparation and corporate/personal tax compliance
• Experience providing advisory support and adding commercial value to clients
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to manage workloads, deadlines and client expectations effectively
• A commercially minded individual with the ambition to progress within a growing firm

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients, acting as a trusted advisor
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and provide proactive advice
• Prepare and review accounts, tax returns and other compliance work
• Provide corporate and personal tax advisory support where required
• Identify opportunities to add value and support clients with their business goals
• Manage client deadlines, workflow, WIP, recoverability and billing
• Review work prepared by junior team members and provide guidance
• Support development and mentoring of junior staff
• Work with partners and senior managers to deliver an excellent client experience
• Utilise technology and improve processes to enhance efficiency and service delivery
