Job summary

CMA Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Client Manager for a modern, growing accountancy firm in the United Kingdom. You will manage a portfolio across sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, lead and develop a team, and deliver statutory accounts and tax returns while providing value-added advisory services.

You’ll work in a hybrid setup with flexible work from home options, collaborate with business owners, and engage with HMRC as needed.

Qualifications

• ACCA, ACA, FMAAT or equivalent fully qualified accountant or tax advisor with current body membership.
• Experience in an accountancy practice environment.
• Strong experience preparing and reviewing accounts and tax returns for a varied client portfolio.
• Solid technical knowledge across accounts preparation, taxation and compliance.
• Experience managing client relationships and delivering advisory services.
• Leadership or mentoring experience is advantageous.
• Practical experience using cloud accounting software (Xero/QuickBooks/Dext).
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex information clearly.
• Highly organised with strong time management and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of sole traders, partnerships and limited company clients.
• Preparing, reviewing and submitting statutory accounts and tax returns.
• Leading, mentoring and developing your own team of accountancy professionals.
• Reviewing work by team members and providing technical guidance and feedback.
• Ensuring client deadlines and SLAs are consistently achieved.
• Supporting clients with tax planning and advisory services.
• Advising on cashflow, budgeting and business performance.
• Managing client relationships and acting as a trusted contact.
• Leading year-end meetings and conducting client fee reviews.
• Liaising with HMRC and other regulatory bodies on behalf of clients.
• Onboarding new clients and ensuring a smooth transition into the business.
• Contributing to the development and success of the wider practice.
• Demonstrating leadership behaviours aligned to company values.
