The British Museum is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to act as an internal consultant at the intersection of business need, technical design, and technology strategy. You will lead discovery for replacing the Environmental Monitoring System and ensure data and processes align with organisational goals.

Qualifications

• Experience using formal business analysis methodologies.
• Ability to translate complex stakeholder needs into requirements.
• Experience coordinating analysis across large projects with multiple suppliers.
• Strong influencing, facilitation and communication skills.
• Strategic, collaborative approach with knowledge of BA tools and best practices.
• Experience with Environmental Monitoring Systems or IT infrastructure is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage discovery and requirements activity for the replacement of the Environmental Monitoring System, documenting current and target states and managing requirements through procurement and project delivery.
• Analyse business systems and evaluate solution options across processes, platforms, infrastructure, integrations, and new technology; translate needs into requirements.
• Provide clear, evidence-based recommendations to senior stakeholders and boards, balancing departmental needs with strategy and EA principles.
• Coordinate multiple large projects and workstreams, planning workload and managing timelines.
• Strengthen BA practice by contributing to standards, guiding others, and supporting less experienced analysts.
