The British Museum operates within a complex and evolving technology landscape. As Senior Business Analyst, you will operate as an experienced internal consultant at the intersection of business need, technical design and technology strategy. Working primarily on the replacement of the Museum’s Environmental Monitoring System (EMS), you will help keep systems, processes and data aligned with changing organisational needs while avoiding unnecessary technical debt.
You will steer complex discovery and analysis, bringing clarity to large problem spaces and translating organisational challenges into well-considered interventions. These may include redesigning business processes, reconfiguring existing platforms, defining integrations and targeted customisations, or introducing new technologies where they add clear value. You will also bring knowledge of business analysis tools, techniques and best practice, strengthening team standards, improving consistency and supporting less experienced analysts.
Working with senior stakeholders, governance boards, technical and compliance teams, and external suppliers, you will develop robust options and recommendations that enable confident decisions. Your analysis and designs will have genuine scope to shape major project decisions and delivery, while ensuring solutions align with enterprise architecture principles, statutory obligations and the Museum’s long-term direction.
The British Museum is undertaking its biggesttransformationsince its founding nearly 300 years ago. This physical and intellectual transformation includes large scale building and gallery transformation, new ways of connecting with audiences and different ways of working. As we look towards this exciting future, we remain guided by the words of our founder Hans Sloane - who dreamed of a museum connecting all arts and sciences, which would be accessible to everyone, everywhere.
