Job summary

The British Museum is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to act as an internal consultant at the intersection of business need, technical design and technology strategy. Working on replacing the Museum’s Environmental Monitoring System (EMS), you will help align systems, processes and data with evolving organisational needs while avoiding technical debt.

Qualifications

• Experience in IS/IT environments using formal business analysis methodologies.
• Ability to translate stakeholder needs into actionable requirements and recommendations.
• Experience coordinating analysis across medium to large projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong influencing, facilitation and communication skills.
• Strategic and collaborative approach with knowledge of BA best practices.
• Experience with Environmental Monitoring Systems or large IT projects is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery and requirements activity for EMS replacement; document current and target states and manage requirements through procurement and delivery.
• Evaluate solution options across processes, platforms, infrastructure, integrations, customization and new technology; translate needs into requirements.
• Provide evidence-based recommendations to senior stakeholders and boards, balancing department needs with enterprise architecture and statutory obligations.
• Coordinate multiple medium to extra-large projects with stakeholders and external suppliers, planning workload and timelines.
• Strengthen BA practice by contributing to standards and mentoring analysts.
