Job summary

The British Museum is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to operate as an internal consultant at the intersection of business needs, technical design and technology strategy. You will lead discovery and analysis for replacing the Environmental Monitoring System, aligning processes and data with organisational needs while managing technical debt.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in a Business/Systems/Operations Analyst, Product Manager, Consultant or similar role in an IS/IT environment using formal business analysis methodologies.
• Strong analytical capability with translating stakeholder needs into requirements and actionable recommendations.
• Experience coordinating analysis across medium to large projects with multiple stakeholders and suppliers.
• Excellent influencing, facilitation and communication skills with senior decision-makers.

Responsibilities

• Manage discovery and requirements activity for the replacement of the Environmental Monitoring System, documenting current and target states and managing requirements through procurement and project delivery.
• Analyse business systems and evaluate solution options across processes, platforms, infrastructure, integrations, customization and new technology.
• Provide clear, evidence-based recommendations to senior stakeholders and Museum boards balancing needs with enterprise architecture and statutory obligations.
• Coordinate multiple medium to extra-large projects and workstreams involving large stakeholder groups and external suppliers.
• Strengthen the business analysis practice by contributing to standards and guiding less experienced analysts.
