Job summary

NTT DATA is seeking a Lead Forward Deployed Engineer to own the outcome thread across complex, strategic customer engagements. You will translate ambiguous priorities into measurable outcomes, orchestrate cross-disciplinary delivery teams, and guide decisions that drive production value for executive and technical stakeholders.

You will provide senior technical judgment across AI, data, architecture, security, and governance, shaping opportunities into production-ready work while mentoring FDEs

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience in AI, software engineering, or enterprise delivery.
• Proven track record leading complex, multi-stakeholder engagements.
• Experience mentoring FDEs and contributing to capability standards.
• Ability to translate business outcomes into delivery plans.

Responsibilities

• Define strategic objectives with executive stakeholders and measurable outcomes.
• Lead complex discovery and solution-shaping engagements.
• Maintain the outcome framework across engagements, including ownership, baselines, and evidence.
• Direct rapid prototyping, proofs, experiments, and demonstrations prioritising high-value assumptions.
• Provide senior technical and solution judgement across AI, data, integration, architecture, security and governance.
• Shape opportunities into production-ready work with mature architecture, backlog, and governance.
• Build trusted relationships with executive, business and technical stakeholders as a senior advisor.
• Orchestrate multidisciplinary teams around a single customer outcome across product, engineering, and delivery.
• Lead resolution of complex challenges using structured problem-solving and escalation when needed.
• Identify and prioritise high-value opportunities by combining domain context and measurable impact.
• Determine the most appropriate delivery route including AI Studio, products, or transformation services.
• Maintain executive-level outcome stewardship through delivery and operations.
• Provide assurance for Forward Deployed work and ensure transition to scalable delivery models.
• Capture field intelligence and translate into reusable assets and improved methods.
• Develop FDE capability through mentoring, peer review, and knowledge sharing.
