Job summary

Bennett & Game Recruitment Ltd. is seeking an experienced Stores Manager in Uxbridge, West London, to oversee day-to-day stores operations, stock control and material movement with a small team. You will ensure accurate goods-in/out, cycle counts and ERP/MRP usage to support production and quality teams.

Ideal candidates have 3-5 years in manufacturing/industrial environments, strong Excel skills and a hands-on ownership approach. Salary £35,000-£38,000 plus benefits and a quarterly bonus scheme.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Stores, Inventory or Warehouse Management position.
• Ideally 3-5 years' experience within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of stock control, goods-in/goods-out and inventory management.
• Experience supervising or leading a small team.
• Confident using an ERP/MRP system and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly around stock accuracy and documentation.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work closely with production, purchasing and quality teams.
• FLT experience/licence would be advantageous.
• A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to take ownership of the stores function.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the management and control of stock across the stores operation.
• Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy through effective stock control, transaction recording and regular cycle counting.
• Oversee goods-in and goods-out, ensuring materials and products are checked, recorded and stored correctly.
• Work closely with the Quality team, supporting the identification and handling of any damaged or non-conforming stock.
• Ensure materials are picked and prepared accurately to support the production operation and prevent manufacturing delays.
• Manage and supervise a small team within the stores department, providing day-to-day direction, support and training.
• Monitor stock levels and use the company's ERP/MRP system to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Identify and report discrepancies, damaged stock and any issues affecting stock availability.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised stores environment, using 5S principles where appropriate.
• Ensure forklifts and warehouse equipment are used safely and maintained in line with company requirements.
• Look for opportunities to improve stock control, warehouse layout and stores processes.
