Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is seeking a Stores / Stock Controller in Sutton-in-Ashfield. Salary £28,000–£30,000 per annum.

You will join the Supply Chain team to ensure raw materials, components and finished products are received, quality checked, labelled and booked into the ERP system. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will link Purchasing, Warehouse and Manufacturing, carrying out stock checks, returns processing and stock movements.

Qualifications

• Experience in stock control, warehousing or inventory management.
• Experience using ERP/stock management systems.
• Knowledge of steel fabrication or engineering components a plus.
• Full UK driving licence and forklift licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage goods-in paperwork and ERP processes for all stock.
• Process inbound/outbound returns including supplier returns.
• Perform quality inspections on incoming goods.
• Prepare stock deliveries and collections from subcontractors.
• Ensure products are correctly labelled and booked in the system.
• Investigate stock discrepancies across warehouse and production.
• Support annual stock check activities.
• Resolve invoice queries related to purchase orders.
• Coordinate stock movements with Purchasing, Supply Chain and Production.

Position: Stores / Stock Controller

Location: Sutton-in-Ashfield

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000

Our client is a specialist engineering manufacturer based in the Sutton-in-Ashfield area, supplying engineered products and solutions to a range of industries. They are looking for an experienced Stores / Stock Controller to join their Supply Chain team.

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, this is a key role linking the Purchasing, Warehouse and Manufacturing departments, ensuring raw materials, components and finished products are accurately received, quality checked, labelled and booked into the ERP system.

Stores / Stock Controller Position Overview

• Manage all goods-in paperwork and ERP system processes for finished goods, raw materials, components and subcontractor assemblies
• Process inbound and outbound returns, including supplier returns and excess or damaged subcontractor material
• Carry out quality inspections on incoming goods in line with company procedures
• Prepare stock deliveries and collections from subcontractors
• Ensure all products are correctly part-numbered, labelled and booked into the system
• Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies across warehouse, stores and production
• Support the annual company stock check and associated preparation
• Resolve invoice queries relating to purchase orders
• Liaise with Purchasing, Supply Chain and Production teams regarding stock movements and requirements
• Monitor stores capacity and recommend actions to improve stock flow and utilisation

Stores / Stock Controller Position Requirements

• Previous experience in stock control, stores, warehousing or inventory management
• Experience using ERP / stock management systems
• Knowledge of steel fabrication, sheet metal, turned parts or engineering components
• Valid forklift licence
• Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly intermediate Excel
• Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and ability to liaise across Purchasing, Production and Supply Chain
• A continuous improvement mindset, ideally with experience contributing to warehouse improvement projects
• Experience with export documentation and commercial invoices would be advantageous
• Full UK Driving Licence

Stores / Stock Controller Position Remuneration

• £28,000-£30,000 per annum
• Monday to Thursday 08:00-16:30. Friday 08:00-15:30. Permanent position
• Holiday allowance, increasing by 1 day after 2 years' service, up to a maximum of 26 days
