Job summary

LDI Group is seeking an experienced Stores Manager to lead the stores, goods‑in and despatch functions for a new world‑class facility in Basingstoke, UK. You will own material flow, stock control and production support to ensure on‑time parts availability.

The role requires a proven track record in stores/warehouse management within manufacturing, strong ERP/MRP experience, and a good understanding of international shipping and ESD considerations.

Qualifications

• Experience in stores/warehouse or despatch management in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong ERP/MRP inventory systems experience.
• Knowledge of material flows, stock traceability and goods-in inspection.
• Nice to have EMS/ESD handling or international export shipping experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead stores, goods-in and despatch team to ensure accurate stock and on-time deliveries.
• Oversee stock accuracy, cycle counts and component traceability (PCBs and parts).
• Optimise goods-in and kitting processes to support production schedules.
• Manage international despatch with compliant packaging and shipping documentation.
• Configure and monitor stock in ERP/MRP; drive Lean/5S improvements.

The Opportunity

Our client is one of the largest UK-owned Contract Electronics Manufacturers (CEMs), supplying cutting-edge industries like space, defence, motorsport, and transport. They are launching a brand-new, world-class facility in Basingstoke and need an experienced Stores Manager to lead their inventory and logistics operations.

Reporting to the Supply Chain Director, you will own the stores, goods-in, and despatch functions, ensuring seamless material flow to support busy electronics manufacturing schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and build a high-performing stores and despatch team.
• Inventory Control: Oversee stock accuracy, cycle counts, and high-level component traceability (PCBs, components, mechanical parts).
• Production Support: Optimise the goods-in and kitting processes to ensure production lines have parts on time.
• International Despatch: Manage high-spec packaging (ESD/anti-static) and complete compliance documentation for UK and global shipping.
• Systems & CI: Manage stock via the ERP/MRP system, tracking KPIs and driving Lean/5S improvements.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience: Proven track record in a Stores, Warehouse, or Despatch Management role within a fast-paced manufacturing or supply chain environment.
• Tech Skills: Strong experience working with ERP/MRP inventory systems.
• Logistics Knowledge: Solid understanding of material flows, stock traceability, and goods-in inspection.
• Advantageous: Experience in electronics manufacturing (EMS), ESD compliance, MSD handling, or international export shipping.
