Job summary

DS Smith Europe is seeking a Stores Coordinator for our Lockerbie packaging site. You will manage engineering spare parts stock, handle ordering, goods receipting, issuing stock, and overall stock control with reporting responsibilities.

Your role includes ensuring on-time orders, accurate deliveries, cost tracking by location, and allocation of parts for scheduled engineering work. Strong organisation and Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a stores/engineering environment.
• SAP knowledge desirable; training can be provided.
• Understanding of manufacturing environment.
• Strong organisation, analytical, communication, and time management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Ensure spare parts are ordered on time and in full.
• Verify deliveries match orders, are undamaged, and meet specs.
• Manage stock within Engineering Stores and track costs by location.
• Allocate spare parts for scheduled Engineering work.
• Stock checking and recording processes.
• Develop and manage rolling stock check programs to keep stock accurate.

Job description

As the Stores Coordinator for our packaging site in Lockerbie, within our Engineering Department, you will manage the engineering stock holding (spare parts) including ordering, goods receipting, and issuing of stock and non-stock items as well as overall stock control and reporting.

Your main duties will include:

• Ensuring spare parts are ordered on time and in full.
• Ensuring all deliveries are correct to the order, free from damage, and to the correct specification
• Ensure that the management of stock within the Engineering Stores is controlled and that all costs are tracked and allocated to the correct location.
• Allocation of spare parts required for scheduled Engineering work.
• Stock checking and recording.
• Develop, maintain, and manage rolling stock check programs ensuring stock levels are accurate, minimum, and maximum stock levels are appropriate and that aged stock is managed.

About you:

• Demonstratable experience in a stores / engineering environment
• SAP (Computer management system) knowledge (desirable but not essential, training can be provided)
• Understanding of manufacturing environment.
• Good organisation, analytical, communication, time management and process improvement skills.
• Understanding of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
