Job summary

Co-op in Polegate is seeking a Customer Team Leader to run the day-to-day store operations and lead a small team across varied shifts. You’ll help ensure excellent service, support stock and merchandising, and engage with customers and the local community.

The role is part-time (20 hours per week) with regular overtime, offering a permanent contract and flexible shift patterns including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Training and membership benefits form part of the package.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a small team in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to motivate and coach colleagues and manage shift coverage.

Responsibilities

• Own the day-to-day running of the store by leading the team on your shift
• Motivate, coach, and support your team to deliver great service and efficient operations
• Work hands-on on the shop floor and tills, supporting daily operations and setting the pace for a team of Customer Team Members
• Support store performance through merchandising, stock accuracy, and HR processes
• Champion Co-op through community engagement and membership growth
