Job summary

WHSmith Travel is seeking a Team Leader to guide a store team within airport locations. You will drive performance, uphold standards, and work to the trading plan while supporting colleagues on the shop floor.

You’ll lead from the front, ensuring safety, customer service, and legal compliance across shifts. The role requires proactive leadership, involvement in training and development, and the ability to adapt to different stores as needed.

Qualifications

• 5 years continuous references – to gain an airport pass you will need 5 years of either employment or education references with no gaps.
• Criminal Records Bureau Check – to be completed by WHSmith if your application is successful
• Photographic ID such as passport or UK Driving Licence

Responsibilities

• Guiding and engaging your team to deliver excellent standards and results in line with the Trading plan.
• Creating a culture of learning, support and recognition – spotting opportunities for development of personal skills, product knowledge and self-awareness.
• Supporting colleagues in an environment where everyone feels valued and welcome.
• Creating a sense of pride within the store to ensure we are operating safely and legally.
