Job description

Job Role - Stores Operative

Rate - £14.80‑17.80 per hour

We are hiring

Role Context

This role supports a major project within our logistics operations. You will be based on‑site in a dynamic environment, working closely with operational and HSE teams to ensure smooth management of stores and occupational health initiatives.

Role Purpose
  • Manage site stores, including stock control and IT system accuracy.
  • Act as a key link between operational teams and HSE teams to promote health, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Support occupational health initiatives and ensure proper PPE and equipment management.
Key Responsibilities
  • Issue tools, plant, materials, PPE and equipment via AssetTagz.
  • Maintain accurate inward/outward stock movement and inventory integrity.
  • Keep detailed records of PPE issued to employees.
  • Order stock and maintain supplier relationships.
  • Ensure proper tagging of equipment with hazard guidance and tool tethers for work at height.
  • Support occupational health initiatives (dust extraction, HAV monitoring, PPE feedback).
  • Conduct inspections and maintenance of tools, lifting equipment, and fall protection gear.
  • Manage COSHH compliance and face‑fit testing.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Valid CSCS Card.
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Excel & Word).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to challenge unsafe behaviour and promote a safety culture.

Training Available: COSHH, Harness Inspection, Occupational Health Risk Management, Face‑Fit (Train the Trainer).
