Stores & Logistics Operator

We are seeking a reliable and organised Stores & Logistics Operator to support warehouse and production operations within a busy manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for managing raw materials, maintaining stock accuracy, and ensuring production teams receive the materials they need to meet customer demands.

The successful candidate will play a key role in warehouse operations, goods receipt, inventory management, and dispatch activities, while maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate Counterbalance and Reach Forklift Trucks to move raw materials and finished goods.
  • Receive, unload, inspect, and store incoming deliveries.
  • Supply production departments with materials in line with manufacturing schedules.
  • Maintain accurate stock records through inventory transactions and regular stock checks.
  • Ensure all warehouse movements are accurately recorded using stock control systems.
  • Coordinate with production teams to ensure material availability and minimise downtime.
  • Support the timely fulfilment and dispatch of customer orders.
  • Assist with project and customer requirements by ensuring materials are available when needed.
  • Liaise with purchasing and internal departments regarding deliveries, stock discrepancies, and material availability.
  • Organise storage areas to maximise warehouse efficiency and space utilisation.
  • Load and unload vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Package products and components securely for shipment, including export deliveries where required.
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety procedures and maintain safe working practices.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and professional warehouse environment.
Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience operating Counterbalance and Reach Forklift Trucks (refresher training can be provided).
  • Experience working within a warehouse, stores, logistics, or manufacturing environment.
  • Good understanding of stock control and inventory management processes.
  • Experience using computerised stock management or ERP systems.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage priorities and work effectively across multiple departments.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • A proactive and team-focused approach to work.

Job Title: Stores & Logistics Operator

Location: Milton Keynes

Salary: 33,280 to 37,440 depending on experience

Hours: 8.30 - 17.00 Monday to Friday

This position would suit candidates from a Warehouse Operative, Stores Operative, Logistics Assistant, Forklift Driver, Materials Handler, Goods In Operative, or Production Stores background.
