Job summary

WHSmith Travel seeks a Store Operations Manager to lead store performance, coach Store Managers and deliver the trading plan across airports. You will oversee day-to-day operations, shape people strategy, ensure safe and compliant practices, and partner with cross-functional teams to optimise customer experience and profitability.

This role requires inspirational leadership, strong communication, and the ability to adapt to fast-paced, seasonal demand while maintaining WHSmith Travel standards

Responsibilities

• Shaping and influencing the People Strategy to drive exceptional performance across WHSmith Travel.
• Inspiring and leading Store Managers through coaching and empowerment to develop talent.
• Owning and delivering a robust talent strategy with cross-functional collaboration.
• Ensuring safety, legal compliance and engaging with support functions for daily compliance.
• Monitoring operational targets and service levels with partners to maximise performance.
• Driving commercial excellence, analysing data and closing performance gaps through action and results.
• Building strong relationships with landlords and communities to support the business.
