Job summary

Mencap is hiring a Shop Manager for the New Furniture Shop at Shepperton on a 37.5 hour contract. You will oversee an inclusive team of paid colleagues and volunteers to maximise sales and minimise costs.

Based in Shepperton with travel to other M5 stores as required, you will drive sales, manage stock, and ensure high customer service standards and compliance with cash handling, security, safeguarding and health & safety.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a busy retail store with KPI delivery.
• Ability to lead paid staff and volunteers effectively.
• Proven track record in driving sales and controlling costs.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales in the store to meet budgets and KPIs.
• Lead a high-density shop keeping merchandising standards.
• Ensure stock is rotated daily and donations are Gift Aided.
• Maintain high standard customer service as per Mencap.
• Develop the team through training and performance reviews.
• Be responsible for cash handling, security, safeguarding and health & safety.
