Job summary

Great Bear, part of the Culina Group, is recruiting for an experienced stock controller to support our e-fulfilment operations in a fast-paced warehouse in the Nottingham area. You will safeguard stock integrity, work with WMS, and liaise with management to ensure accurate received and despatched loads.

The role requires attention to detail, investigative skills, ability to work nights (4 on 4 off, 18:00–06:00), and the initiative to cover all stock department tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience in stock control and stock accuracy is essential.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills are required.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities are necessary for daily warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with Management and Operational staff to ensure accuracy of received and despatched loads and amend and rework accordingly.
• Manage the pallet area in collaboration with the Receipt and Despatch Team.
• Update pickfaces to maintain stock integrity and complete checks first.
• Oversee Hold and Release processes and investigate short shipments.
• Assist in pallet database management and daily/weekly reporting.
• Participate in ODT planning with Mars and Haulier and cover other Stock Dept tasks as needed.

Job description

Supporting our e-fulfilment operation for a well-known recognised brand. The site will handle the movement of customer-specific products, including beers, wines and spirits, within a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will play a vital role in maintaining the stock integrity within the warehouse. With an eye for detail and excellent investigative skills you will already have stock control experience and knowledge of WMS. Teamwork, communication and tenacity are key attributes, whilst the ability to work pro-actively on your own initiative is also vital to the success of our department. Working hours: 4 on 4 off nights, 18:00 - 06:00,

• Liaise with Management and Operational staff to ensure accuracy of received and despatched loads and amend and rework accordingly.
• Manage, in conjunction with the Receipt and Despatch Team, the problem pallet area.
• Accurately amend pickfaces to maintain stock integrity ensuring all checks are completed first.
• Hold and Release process.
• Assist in the management of the pallet database.
• Fully investigate and report accurately all short shipments.
• Completion of daily reports required on a daily and weekly basis.
• ODT planning with Mars and Haulier.
• Assist Stock Management with investigations.
• Any additional responsibilities such as handovers, missing pallet investigations, damage control and samples.
• Previous stock control experience.
• Flexibility within the role to cover all areas of the stock department functionality.
• Able to demonstrate a high level of detail.
• Able to manage own time to achieve daily targets efficiently and effectively.
• Team player who can also work on own initiative.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• Excellent investigative and problem-solving skills.
• PC literate in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
