Job summary

DFDS in Grimsby is seeking a Stock Controller to help keep our busy warehouse moving. On a 4 on 4 off shift (06:00-18:00), you’ll check, label and store stock, verify trailers, and use handheld terminals (HHT) and T20 equipment to maintain accurate records.

You’ll work both independently and with the team to ensure efficient stock flow. Experience in stock control and a proactive approach are key.

Qualifications

• Experience in stock control.
• Familiarity with HHT systems and T20 equipment.
• Able to work 4 on 4 off shifts.

Responsibilities

• Check off trailers and verify stock against paperwork.
• Move and split stock as required.
• Label pallets accurately for storage and dispatch.

Job description

About the role

Working on a 4 on 4 off (06:00 - 18:00) shift pattern, you’ll play a key role in managing stock accuracy and flow within our busy operation. You’ll be responsible for ensuring goods are checked, labelled, and stored correctly, supporting smooth warehouse processes.

• Checking off trailers and verifying stock against paperwork
• Moving and splitting stock as required
• Labelling pallets accurately for storage and dispatch
• Using handheld terminals (HHT) and T20 equipment for stock control
• Maintaining accurate stock records and reporting discrepancies
• Supporting general warehouse duties when needed
• Working safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment

About you

You’ll have previous experience in stock control and ideally be familiar with HHT systems and T20 equipment. We’re looking for someone who can work well both independently and as part of a team, with a flexible, proactive attitude and strong attention to detail.
