Job summary

Adecco is seeking a Field-Based Stock Control Coordinator, operating across the East & West Midlands including Birmingham. The role focuses on stock audits, asset management, and improving efficiency while reducing unnecessary purchases.

You will travel between depots and sites, identify surplus stock, and support governance of asset information. A driving licence and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in stock control, inventory management, asset auditing, stores, warehousing, or a similar role.
• Comfortable working within depot, warehouse, engineering, or operational environments.
• Strong Excel and data-entry skills.
• Ability to work independently across multiple locations.
• Full UK Driving Licence - Company car provided for business use throughout the contract.

Responsibilities

• Visit depots and operational sites across the Midlands region.
• Conduct physical stock checks and asset inspections.
• Verify stock location, condition, and usability.
• Reconcile physical inventory against spreadsheets and tracking systems.
• Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies.
• Identify excess, obsolete, or stranded materials and redeploy where possible.
• Record and maintain accurate asset information.
• Match available stock to upcoming work programmes and replacement schemes.
• Build relationships with depot managers and operations teams.
• Produce weekly progress updates and maintain governance records.
