Job summary

Guest Motor Group in West Bromwich is seeking a Stock Control Supervisor to oversee stock administration, ensure accuracy and drive improvements across the stock control function.

You will lead a small team, reconcile supplier invoices, coordinate stock takes and work with manufacturers and parts suppliers to maintain optimal stock levels. This role is based at our busy commercial vehicle operation and requires a proactive, detail‑oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Experience in stock control in automotive, distribution or similar.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Excellent administration and organisational skills.
• Good IT skills with Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Supervise stock control administration activities and team.
• Resolve stock discrepancies and supplier queries promptly.
• Process discrepancy and surcharge claims and reconcile accounts.
• Ensure accurate stock receipts, orders and invoicing.
• Coordinate stock takes and liaise with manufacturers and suppliers.
• Reconcile supplier invoices/credits and customer invoicing.
• Support continuous improvement of stock control processes.

Guest Motor Group is looking for an experienced and motivated Stock Control Supervisor to join our team in West Bromwich. Based at our busy commercial vehicle operation, you will play a key role in overseeing stock control activities, supervising stock administration functions, and ensuring the smooth running of the department.

What You’ll Be Doing

As Stock Control Supervisor, you will be the go-to person for stock control administration, ensuring stock accuracy and driving the resolution of stock-related queries. Key responsibilities include:

• Supervising and supporting stock control administration activities.
• Managing and resolving stock-related queries and discrepancies.
• Processing and progressing discrepancy and surcharge claims.
• Completing account reconciliations and stock reconciliations.
• Ensuring accurate stock receipting and stock ordering.
• Liaising with manufacturers and suppliers.
• Reconciling and verifying supplier invoices and credits.
• Processing customer invoicing and crediting.
• Coordinating and participating in stock takes.
• Supporting continuous improvement within stock control processes.
• Carrying out any other reasonable duties as required by management.

What We’re Looking For

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous stock control experience, ideally within a commercial vehicle, automotive, parts, or distribution environment.
• A strong understanding of stock control principles and stock-taking procedures.
• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Strong administration and organisational skills.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with suppliers, colleagues and management.
• A proactive, positive, and flexible approach to work.
• Experience with Keyloop/CDK/Autoline/Kerridge dealer management systems would be advantageous but is not essential.
