Job summary

Conquip Engineering Group in Alton, Hampshire, is hiring a Stock Control Manager to own stock accuracy, oversee the hire fleet and ensure efficient inventory control across locations. This hands-on leadership role works with Operations, Purchasing and Finance to improve productivity, reduce costs and strengthen controls.

You will lead the Stock Control Administrator, drive audits, weekly stock takes and data reporting, and implement proactive process improvements in a busy, office-based stock

Qualifications

• Proven experience in stock control, inventory management, asset management or a similar operational role.
• Strong organisational and planning skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Demonstrable ability to manage stock accuracy, investigate discrepancies and implement improvements.
• Confidence with stock data, reporting and operational performance metrics.
• Excellent communication across multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of stock accuracy and implement effective stock control procedures.
• Oversee weekly stock takes and investigate discrepancies to implement corrective actions.
• Monitor stock movements, damaged equipment and asset records for traceability.
• Collaborate with Purchasing and Finance to maintain valuations and informed purchasing decisions.
• Lead and support the Stock Control Administrator to ensure priorities and performance targets are met.
• Provide data-driven insights to drive continuous improvement in stock management.
