Job summary

Hyatt Regency London - The Churchill is seeking a Stewarding Team Leader to lead and supervise the stewarding team, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and efficiency across kitchen areas. You will oversee dishwashing, sanitation, and stock handling while coordinating shifts and supporting team productivity during service.

The role requires previous Kitchen Porter or Stewarding experience, with supervisory experience preferred in a hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and understanding of health, safety and hygiene regulations.
• Experience in Kitchen Porter or Stewarding roles; supervisory or team leadership experience preferred in a hotel setting.
• Willingness to lead, coach and support a team to maintain high standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the stewarding team, ensuring high cleanliness, organization and efficiency across kitchen areas.
• Oversee cleaning and sanitation of equipment, utensils and surfaces to strict hygiene standards.
• Ensure smooth operation of dishwashing areas and proper equipment maintenance.
• Coordinate shifts, allocate tasks and drive team productivity during service.
• Assist with receiving, storage and organization of deliveries; ensure stock rotation.
• Monitor waste management and sustainability practices in line with safety standards.
• Train, coach and support team members to foster a positive working environment.
• Collaborate with chefs to ensure seamless operations during busy service periods.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company standards at all times.

Duties and responsibilities related to the Stewarding Team Leader role

Lead and supervise the stewarding team, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, organisation , and efficiency across all kitchen areas.

Oversee the cleaning and sanitation of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces, maintaining strict hygiene standards at all times.

Ensure the smooth operation of dishwashing areas, including correct use and maintenance of equipment.

Support the coordination of shifts, task allocation, and team productivity during service.

Assist with receiving, storing, and organising deliveries, ensuring proper stock rotation and storage practices.

Monitor waste management and recycling processes, ensuring compliance with hygiene, safety, and sustainability standards.

Train, coach, and support team members, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.

Work closely with chefs and kitchen teams to ensure seamless operations during busy service periods.

Ensure full compliance with health & safety, food hygiene, and company standards at all times.

About you

A strong attention to detail, a good understanding of health, safety and hygiene regulations, and a positive, reliable approach to work are essential. The successful candidate will enjoy working as part of a team and supporting the smooth day-to‑day operation of the kitchen.

Previous experience in a Kitchen Porter or Stewarding role is required, whilst supervisory or team leadership experience within a hotel environment would be preferred.
