Our team of stewards play a vital role in the smooth and efficient operations of the hospice, including routinely dealing with death and dying (such as transporting deceased bodies to and from our mortuary, supporting family viewings, and liaising with funeral directors). Your role will often involve supporting patients upon their arrival at the hospice, ensuring they are safely escorted to our Inpatient Unit (IPU).

Salary: £29,201 per annum
Hours/Tenure: 36 hours per week on a rota basis (Permanent)
(Monday to Sunday on a rota basis, including some Bank Holiday working and Christmas Day)

Your new role
This is an exciting opportunity to work within our busy Steward department.
Our stewards play a vital role in the smooth and efficient operations of the hospice, including dealing with death and dying (transporting bodies, supporting viewings, liaising with funeral directors). You will also support patients arriving at the hospice and escort them to the IPU, transport equipment, respond to patient needs, assist with garden visits, handle requests from departments, and support building security. Additionally, the role involves picking up and dropping off patients for appointments.
