Circle Health Group Decontamination is seeking a Sterile Services Technician (Bank) in Aylesford to support operating theatres with high‑quality sterile service. This on‑call role supplements staffing during busy periods and annual leave, with a salary up to £14.42 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.

The unit operates 24/7 with rotating day and night shifts, and the post requires Hepatitis B immunisation and a strong commitment to safety, teamwork and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Provide a first-class decontamination service to Operating Theatres and clinical departments.
• Assist in decontamination, checking, assembly, packing, sterilisation and delivery of equipment.
• Maintain good working relationships with customers and promote Health & Safety best practices.
• Ensure equipment safety standards are met and report faults to the Team Leader/Manager.
• Assist Team Leaders in liaising with departments to maintain item supply.
• Comply with mandatory training and health & safety requirements.

Sterile Services Technician (Bank)

Circle Decontamination - Aylesford Bank Shifts Salary: Up to £14.42 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

Circle Health Group Decontamination is responsible for the provision of sterile equipment and instrumentation for use in surgical and interventional procedures in hospitals across England and Glasgow. The unit operates 24 hours a day/7 days a week with rotating shifts covering days and nights as required.

We have an opportunity for a Sterile Services Technician to join their team of staff in the Decontamination department.

This is a bank role working on an "as and when required" basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

Duties of this role include:

• You provide a first-class decontamination sterile service to the Operating Theatres, clinical departments and relevant paramedical departments.
• You assist in the provision of decontamination, checking, assembly, packing, sterilisation and delivery of medical and surgical equipment and sundry items to/for the customer.
• You maintain good working relationships with all customers.
• You promote and maintain Health & Safety within the department.
• You ensure all equipment is maintained to the required standard of safety, reporting any faults to Team leader/Manager.
• You assist the Team Leaders in liaising with departments to ensure supply of items is maintained.
• You maintain the accepted Health & Safety requirements for the protection of staff and visitors.
• You comply with all relevant mandatory training.
