Job summary

Circle Health Group Decontamination is seeking a Sterile Services Technician to join the team on an as and when required basis in the Decontamination department. The role covers providing sterile services to operating theatres, assisting with decontamination, packing, sterilisation and delivery of medical equipment.

You will work across day and night shifts, maintain health and safety standards, liaise with departments to ensure supplies, and comply with mandatory training.

Qualifications

• Experience in decontamination or sterile services is desirable.
• Familiar with sterilisation processes and equipment handling within a hospital setting.
• Commitment to safety, accuracy and high-quality service.

Responsibilities

• Provide decontamination sterile service to Operating Theatres and clinical departments.
• Assist in decontamination, checking, assembly, packing, sterilisation and delivery of equipment.
• Maintain good working relationships with customers and promote Health & Safety.
• Report faults and assist in liaising with departments to ensure supplies.

Job description

We have an opportunity for a Sterile Services Technician to join their team of staff in the Decontamination department. This is a bank role working on an "as and when required" basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence. Duties of this role include:

• You provide a first-class decontamination sterile service to the Operating Theatres, clinical departments and relevant paramedical departments.
• You assist in the provision of decontamination, checking, assembly, packing, sterilisation and delivery of medical and surgical equipment and sundry items to/for the customer.
• You maintain good working relationships with all customers.
• You promote and maintain Health & Safety within the department.
• You ensure all equipment is maintained to the required standard of safety, reporting any faults to Team leader/Manager.
• You assist the Team Leaders in liaising with departments to ensure supply of items is maintained.
• You maintain the accepted Health & Safety requirements for the protection of staff and visitors.
• You comply with all relevant mandatory training.

• Hepatitis B Immunisation is required for this job role.
  Circle Health Group Decontamination is responsible for the provision of sterile equipment and instrumentation for use in surgical and interventional procedures in hospitals across England and Glasgow. The unit operates 24 hours a day/7 days a week with rotating shifts covering days and nights as required.
