Job summary

Circle Health Group Decontamination in Radlett is seeking a Sterile Services Technician for bank shifts (14:00–22:00). You will support decontamination, sterilisation and delivery of equipment to operating theatres and clinical areas.

Working on an as-needed basis, you will join a small team, maintain safety standards, and assist with stock checks and fault reporting. Commitment to training and teamwork is essential.

• Hepatitis B immunisation is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide a first-class decontamination service to operating theatres and clinical departments.
• Assist in decontamination, checking, assembly, packing, sterilisation and delivery of equipment and sundry items to/for the customer.
• Maintain good working relationships with all customers.
• Promote and maintain Health & Safety within the department.
• Ensure all equipment is maintained to the required safety standards and report faults to Team Leader/Manager.
• Assist the Team Leaders in liaising with departments to ensure supply of items is maintained.
• Maintain the accepted Health & Safety requirements for the protection of staff and visitors.
• Comply with all relevant mandatory training.

Salary: Up to £14.42 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

Overview

Circle Health Group Decontamination is responsible for the provision of sterile equipment and instrumentation for use in surgical and interventional procedures in hospitals across England and Glasgow. The unit operates 24 hours a day/7 days a week with rotating shifts covering days and nights as required.

We have an opportunity for a Sterile Services Technician to join the Decontamination department.

This is a bank role working on an "as and when required" basis. You will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence. Shifts for this role include weekdays and weekends from 14:00 - 22:00.

Duties

• You provide a first‑class decontamination sterile service to the Operating Theatres, clinical departments and relevant paramedical departments.
• You assist in the provision of decontamination, checking, assembly, packing, sterilisation and delivery of medical and surgical equipment and sundry items to/for the customer.
• You maintain good working relationships with all customers.
• You promote and maintain Health & Safety within the department.
• You ensure all equipment is maintained to the required standard of safety, reporting any faults to Team leader/Manager.
• You assist the Team Leaders in liaising with departments to ensure supply of items is maintained.
• You maintain the accepted Health & Safety requirements for the protection of staff and visitors.
