Job summary

Circle Health Group Decontamination in Aylesford is seeking a Sterile Services Technician on a bank basis to support operating theatres with sterile equipment and instrumentation.

You will work on an as-and-when-required basis, covering day and night shifts, ensuring all decontamination, sterilisation and packing tasks meet safety standards and customer requirements. A willingness to learn and team collaboration are essential, with hepatitis B immunisation required.

Responsibilities

• Promote health and safety in the department and ensure equipment safety.

Salary: Up to £14.42 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

Circle Health Group Decontamination is responsible for the provision of sterile equipment and instrumentation for use in surgical and interventional procedures in hospitals across England and Glasgow. The unit operates 24 hours a day/7 days a week with rotating shifts covering days and nights as required.

We have an opportunity for a Sterile Services Technician to join their team of staff in theDecontaminationdepartment.

This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

Duties of this role include:

• You provide a first-class decontamination sterile service to the Operating Theatres, clinical departments and relevant paramedical departments.
• You assist in the provision of decontamination, checking, assembly, packing, sterilisation and delivery of medical and surgical equipment and sundry items to/for the customer.
• You maintain good working relationships with all customers.
• You promote and maintain Health & Safety within the department.
• You ensure all equipment is maintained to the required standard of safety, reporting any faults to Team leader/Manager.
• You assist the Team Leaders in liaising with departments to ensure supply of items is maintained.
• You maintain the accepted Health & Safety requirements for the protection of staff and visitors.
• You comply with all relevant mandatory training.
