Job summary

Cheshire East Council is seeking Step-Forward Foster Carers to welcome a child or sibling group into your home, providing stability, routine and a nurturing family environment.

You will work with social workers and therapists, receive specialist training and 24/7 wraparound support, with a weekly allowance per child and a £52,000 annual salary (1,000 per week) plus a 50% retainer pre-placement. Progression is subject to checks and panel approval.

Qualifications

• Must have the legal Right to Work in the United Kingdom (see definition)
• Ideally have experience supporting children, young people, or adults, particularly with complex needs
• Willingness to provide full-time care and create a stable home environment

Responsibilities

• Provide full-time care for a child or sibling group from residential care
• Offer stability, routine, and reassurance within a nurturing home
• Support the child’s emotional, behavioural, and social development
• Collaborate with social workers, therapists and other professionals
• Keep clear records and provide therapeutic, relationship-based care
• Maintain family relationships through Family Time
