Job summary

Laing O'Rourke is seeking an experienced Steelfixer to join the M42 Box HS2 Project on site. You will read reinforcement drawings, cut and fix steel to specification, and work with site teams to achieve programme and quality targets.

The role requires CSCS Blue skilled worker and a strong commitment to safety and quality on major infrastructure projects in the UK.

Key Duties

• Read and understand steel reinforcement drawings and schedules.
• Cut, bend and fix steel reinforcement to specification.
• Install reinforcement safely and correctly according to project requirements.
• Work together with site teams to meet programme and quality targets.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and workmanship at all times.
• Follow approved safe working methods and site procedures.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Steelfixer.
• Ability to read and understand steel reinforcement drawings.
• Strong knowledge of steel fixing methods and construction practices.
• Ability to work accurately and to high quality standards.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
• Experience working on major infrastructure or construction projects is desirable.
