Job summary

Reliable Contractors Limited is seeking a Steelfixer for a major MOD project in Plymouth. You will install and fix reinforcement steel according to drawings and schedules, and coordinate with formwork carpenters and engineers on site.

This site-based role runs Monday to Friday on a PAYE basis with 30 days of paid holidays per year, and opportunities for training and upskilling within a safe working environment.

Qualifications

• CSCS Blue Skilled Worker Card required.
• Level 2 NVQ Steelfixing or Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Steelfixing completed.
• Safety Critical Medical desirable.
• Previous experience as a Steelfixer on major construction or infrastructure projects.
• Experience fixing reinforcement steel for reinforced concrete structures.
• Good understanding of reinforcement drawings and bar schedules.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable and proactive approach to work.
• Eligible for BPSS Security Clearance; passport from NATO/MISWG member country; UK residence last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Install, tie and secure reinforcement steel in accordance with engineering drawings.
• Position reinforcement cages, mesh and steel bars to required specifications.
• Read and interpret reinforcement drawings and bar schedules.
• Work closely with formwork carpenters, concrete finishers and site engineers.
• Carry out quality checks to ensure reinforcement is installed correctly before concrete placement.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area.
• Comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.
• Support the successful delivery of major MOD infrastructure works.

An opportunity to work on our MOD project in Plymouth, delivering major redevelopment works over the coming years.

PAYE basis

Paid Holidays: 30 days per year (including bank holidays)

Must Have:
