Job summary

GWR seeks a Service Delivery Assistant to be the friendly, visible face of the station, ensuring passenger safety and smooth operations. You will be vigilant, show initiative, and support colleagues across shifts while delivering excellent customer service.

The role covers dispatching trains safely, helping passengers with information, keeping station areas clean, and coordinating with other departments during disruptions.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering high levels of customer service in a frontline role.
• Ability to stay calm and decisive in a busy, safety-critical environment.
• Willingness to work across shift patterns including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Providing the highest levels of customer service and being proactive to customer needs
• Ensuring the safe and punctual departure of trains from the station, following correct dispatch procedures
• Providing information and assistance to customers
• Ensuring the safety of customers, staff, visitors and contractors is given the highest priority
• Ensuring the cleanliness of all areas of the station especially toilets, waiting rooms, platforms, stairs and subways
• Liaising with other key GWR departments to ensure accurate and timely information is given to customers, especially in times of service disruption
