Position Description
Coolkeeragh Power Station comprises a 400MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine’s (CCGT’s) and 56MW OCGT and is located at Maydown, N.Ireland. The power station will be managed, maintained and operated to strict efficiency and availability standards in a competitive commercial market.
The Asset Manager will form part of the senior management team at CoolkeeraghPower Station. The successful candidate will be a team player, flexible and a self-motivated with good problem solving skills. He/she should demonstrate strong inter-personal skills, delivering effective engagement and alignment of staff at all levels in the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibility of this role is maintaining a best in class CCGT Powerplant and fulfilling the requirements of the contractual obligations and commercial targets set for the plant. Other key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
• Maintaining Asset Management Policies for the plant, in line with best practice
• Development of the Critical Asset Register and Long Term Asset Plan
• Liaising and working effectively with the Central Asset Management function
• Maintaining a best in class Asset Management Team and ensuring all required skills and competencies are developed and maintained within that team.
• Project management and OH Planning and scheduling
• Plant Technical and Commercial Reporting and Performance Management
• Managing the IT, Environment and Chemistry functions
• Managing the Integrated Business Management Standards for the business.
• Developing Plant modification and enhancement Projects as required
• Major contract management
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience
• 5 years’ experience in power plant or similar process industry.
• Strong experience in project management and very good planning skills are essential.
• Strong interpersonal skill and have the ability to manage and influence stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills encompassing an ability to prepare reports to suit recipients at different levels of the organisation and make presentations as required.
• Strong IT skills
• Experience of working from own initiative, taking ownership of work / projects and motivating team members to deliver team objectives or projects.
• Analytical skills to assess projects and the ability to summarise the key parameters of a project.
• A track record of project experience.
• Experience of negotiations and commercial ability.
• Knowledge of the energy and gas market and regulatory supports in NI.
• Knowledge of procurement procedures.
• Financial skill to appraise project returns and profitability.
Essential Qualifications
• A recognised degree in an appropriate engineering discipline or equivalent.
