Job summary

Durham site seeks a Maintenance Electrician for a permanent static-site role with a days-based, Monday–Friday pattern. Basic salary £40,000–£42,000 plus overtime, standby and private healthcare.

You will join an established engineering team responsible for electrical maintenance and building services across a large commercial site, with long-term career progression on offer.

Qualifications

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
• Diagnose faults and complete electrical repairs safely.
• Carry out minor electrical installation and maintenance works.
• Maintain electrical systems and building services equipment.
• Respond to reactive maintenance requests and minimise downtime.
• Record completed work and follow-up requirements on the Mercury CAFM system.
• Ensure tasks meet health and safety procedures.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers and site technicians.
• Support maintenance activities across other sites in the local cluster.
• Ensure tools and equipment are available and fit for purpose.
• Maintain relationships with site team and client.
• Ensure work complies with quality and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside mechanical engineers and other site-based technicians when required.
• Support maintenance activities across other sites within the local cluster where necessary.
• Ensure tools, test equipment and other maintenance equipment are available and fit for purpose.
• Maintain professional working relationships with the site team and client.
• Ensure all work is completed to the required quality and compliance standards.

Maintenance Electrician - Static Site | Durham

Maintenance Electrician required for a permanent static-site position in Durham, working Monday to Friday on a days-based shift pattern.

This is a good opportunity for an experienced electrician who wants a stable site-based role, regular working hours and the opportunity to increase earnings through overtime and standby.

You will join an established engineering team responsible for the electrical maintenance and general building services across a large commercial site.

The Role

As a Maintenance Electrician, you will carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance and electrical repairs across the site.

The role will involve maintaining a range of electrical systems and building services equipment, responding to breakdowns and ensuring planned maintenance is completed safely and within the required timescales.

You will also work alongside other engineers and technicians where additional support is required.

What You'll Need

• City & Guilds Part 1 & 2 Electrical Installation or an equivalent Level 2/3 Electrical qualification.
• 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• Previous experience in commercial or industrial electrical maintenance.
• Experience carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements within a commercial or industrial environment.
• A professional approach and good communication skills.
• The ability to work independently while also supporting the wider engineering team.
