Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking a Static Electrical Maintenance Engineer to support regional commercial/industrial sites in Kettering. The role covers planned maintenance, troubleshooting faults, and carrying out electrical installation tasks on a Monday-Friday shift.

Requirements include NVQ Level 2/3 (or City & Guilds), 18th Edition, and a valid UK driving licence. Overtime is available and a call-out rota is optional, providing flexibility and additional earnings.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2/3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
• Experience in commercial or multi-site electrical maintenance.
• Valid UK driving licence required.
• Strong fault-finding abilities and good communication.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) across regional sites.
• Respond to emergency/reactive electrical breakdowns.
• Diagnose faults and carry out remedial repairs.
• Complete minor electrical installation projects (lighting, power distribution).
• Maintain logs and manage vendor site access.
• Ensure all works meet UK Health & Safety guidelines.

Location: Kettering
Salary: £40,000 - £41,000 pa
Hours: Monday - Friday (07:00 am - 03:00 pm or 07:30 am - 03:30 pm)

Package & Benefits

• Base Salary: Upto £41,000 pa
• Working Hours: Early shift pattern (40 hours/week, Mon-Fri)
• Overtime: Available for optional extra earnings
• On-Call Rota: Fully optional (opt-in / opt-out friendly for work-life balance)
• Call-Out Allowance: £150 per week standby when on rota, 1 in 4 or 1 in 5 week rotation covering the wider Midlands region.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) across regional commercial/industrial sites.
• Respond efficiently to emergency reactive requests and electrical breakdowns.
• Diagnose faults, troubleshoot complex power supply issues, and carry out remedial repairs.
• Complete minor electrical installation projects, including lighting circuits and power distribution adjustments.
• Maintain clear logs of maintenance work and manage vendor site access when required.
• Ensure all works adhere strictly to current UK Health & Safety guidelines.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Qualifications: NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds equivalent in Electrical Installation.
• Regulations: 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
• Experience: Proven track record in commercial or multi-site electrical maintenance.
• Driving Licence: Valid UK Driver's Licence (essential for regional site travel).
• Skills: Strong fault-finding ability, independence, and strong communication skills.
