Calibre Search is seeking a Maintenance Electrician for a permanent static-site role in Durham. The position offers a £40,000-£42,000 basic salary, with overtime, standby and private healthcare. You will join an established engineering team responsible for electrical maintenance across a large commercial site.

The role covers PPM, reactive maintenance and electrical repairs, with opportunities for long-term progression and a Monday–Friday days pattern on-site.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds Part 1 & 2 Electrical Installation or equivalent Level 2/3.
• 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• Experience in commercial or industrial electrical maintenance.
• Experience carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical maintenance.
• Diagnose faults and complete electrical repairs safely.
• Carry out minor electrical installation and maintenance works.
• Record completed work and faults in the Mercury CAFM system.
• Ensure health and safety procedures in all tasks.
• Collaborate with other site engineers and technicians.
• Support maintenance across nearby sites as needed.

Maintenance Electrician - Static Site | Durham

£40,000-£42,000 + Overtime + Standby + Private Healthcare

Maintenance Electrician required for a permanent static-site position in Durham, working Monday to Friday on a days-based shift pattern.

This is a good opportunity for an experienced electrician who wants a stable site-based role, regular working hours and the opportunity to increase earnings through overtime and standby.

You will join an established engineering team responsible for the electrical maintenance and general building services across a large commercial site.

The Role

As a Maintenance Electrician, you will carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance and electrical repairs across the site.

The role will involve maintaining a range of electrical systems and building services equipment, responding to breakdowns and ensuring planned maintenance is completed safely and within the required timescales.

You will also work alongside other engineers and technicians where additional support is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical maintenance.
• Diagnose faults and complete electrical repairs efficiently and safely.
• Carry out minor electrical installation and maintenance works.
• Maintain electrical systems and associated building services equipment.
• Respond to reactive maintenance requests and minimise equipment downtime.
• Complete planned maintenance in line with agreed schedules and KPIs.
• Accurately record completed work, faults and follow-up requirements on the Mercury CAFM system.
• Ensure maintenance tasks are completed in accordance with health and safety procedures.
• Work alongside mechanical engineers and other site-based technicians when required.
• Support maintenance activities across other sites within the local cluster where necessary.
• Ensure tools, test equipment and other maintenance equipment are available and fit for purpose.
• Maintain professional working relationships with the site team and client.
• Ensure all work is completed to the required quality and compliance standards.

What You'll Need

The successful Maintenance Electrician will ideally have:

• City & Guilds Part 1 & 2 Electrical Installation or an equivalent Level 2/3 Electrical qualification.
• 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• Previous experience in commercial or industrial electrical maintenance.
• Experience carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements within a commercial or industrial environment.
• A professional approach and good communication skills.
• The ability to work independently while also supporting the wider engineering team.
