Job Overview

The General Dental Council (GDC) has an exciting opportunity for a Stakeholder and Communications Manager to join us on a full-time, 12-month contract. This Hybrid role involves working 2 days per week from our office in London.

About Us

The Dental Complaints Service (DCS) is a team of trained advisors dedicated to helping private dental patients and professionals settle complaints fairly and efficiently. We are funded by the General Dental Council, which regulates dental professionals in the UK.

Role Description

The Stakeholder and Communications Manager will deliver a range of communication and engagement activities to support the GDC's mission of ensuring patient safety and public confidence in dental professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with external stakeholders to influence perceptions and garner support.
• Plan and deliver engagement activities and communication materials for external audiences.
• Lead communications for corporate projects and prepare senior colleagues for stakeholder meetings.
• Collaborate with senior staff to develop and implement communication strategies.
• Create content for various channels including newsletters, websites, social media, and presentations.
• Organize stakeholder meetings and events.

Person Specification

Candidates should demonstrate experience in building effective stakeholder relationships, creating multi-channel communication content, and have knowledge of UK political processes or experience in healthcare/public sector organizations.
