Job summary

TAIT is seeking a Mechanical Fabricator to join our live events fabrication team in the UK. You will weld, fabricate, and assemble structural components using MIG/TIG processes, read engineering drawings, and fit moving mechanisms for stage machinery.

Working with mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium, you will cut, roll, and bend parts, ensure tight tolerances, and collaborate with design and installation teams to deliver precise, safe builds for high-profile performances.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in custom welding and fabrication.
• Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with machine assembly.
• Ability to interpret engineering and fabrication drawings confidently.
• Familiarity with safe use of fabrication tools and machinery.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate structural and architectural components using MIG/TIG/MMA welding to specifications.
• Work with mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
• Assemble mechanical systems including bearings, motors, gearboxes, pulleys, and linear rails.
• Fit and align moving parts to ensure smooth mechanical function.
• Perform functional testing and basic fault finding on mechanical systems.
