Job summary

DeepL is building a global Language AI platform with a dedicated Identity and Access Management team. You will own identity services end to end—from design through deployment to ongoing operations—and help scale infrastructure to meet high request volumes.

The role emphasizes ownership, reliability, and security, with opportunities to shape the identity roadmap and work across modern cloud-native technologies.

Qualifications

• Production grade backend engineering at Staff level.
• Drive initiatives from design through deployment and operation.
• Willingness to handle operational incidents and urgencies.
• Experience building reliable, high throughput services.

Responsibilities

• Raise the engineering bar through design review, mentoring, and standards.
• Own identity services end to end from design to operation.
• Lead diagnosis and resolution of incidents to prevent recurrence.
• Balance feature delivery with reliability and availability.
• Set technical direction and make architectural trade-offs for identity domain.
• Move identity platform to scalable infrastructure over time.
• Shape the long-term identity roadmap (SSO, SCIM, OIDC).
• Lead analysis of complex needs and align with stakeholders.
