Job summary

DeepL is seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to lead the Identity and Access Management stack. You will own identity services end-to-end, from design through deployment and operation, and drive reliability at scale.

Qualifications

• Production grade backend engineering at staff level.
• Proven ownership of large-scale identity services.
• Willingness to work on operational incidents.
• Experience with SSO, OIDC, SCIM is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Raise the engineering bar through design reviews and mentoring.
• Own end-to-end delivery of identity services.
• Respond to incidents and diagnose root causes.
• Balance feature work with reliability of core infrastructure.
• Set architectural direction for identity domain.
• Move platform from startup to scalable infra.
• Shape long-term identity roadmap (SSO, SCIM, OIDC).
• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure real problems are solved.
