Job summary

We are looking for dynamic, forward‑thinking, and committed nurses to join our dedicated teams within the CTM‑wide Stroke Unit. The successful candidates will have excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering high quality person‑centred care. Main duties

We are a 50‑bedded unit based in Royal Glamorgan Hospital. Staff are committed to your ongoing professional development, with preceptorship and support from an experienced multi‑professional team. All new staff receive an induction period, a ‘buddy’ nurse, and access to our Clinical Supervision programme.

Job responsibilities

You will work within a shift system typically 12.5 hours, inclusive of either one 30‑minute or two 30‑minute unpaid breaks. Shift patterns are subject to review, and the Health Board reserves the right to change working arrangements. The department commits to meaningful consultation with staff and balanced decisions that consider all aspects of service delivery.

Qualifications and experience

• UK NMC Registered General Nurse
• Ability to demonstrate responsibilities under the NMC Code of Conduct
• Previous experience working in a ward environment
• Ability to work within a team
• Excellent verbal communication skills

Personal qualities

• Enthusiastic
• Good interpersonal skills

Desirable

• Previous stroke experience
• Welsh language speaking/listening skills at Level 3 or above (CEFR B2)
• Experience with IV devices and IV additives

Working pattern

Full‑time or part‑time, permanent contract.

Salary

£31,516 to £38,364 per year, pro rata if part‑time.
