As part of an enhanced care network for orthopaedic patients in Scotland, Gartnavel General Hospital and Inverclyde Royal Hospital have increased orthopaedic activity within GGC. Due to this expansion, we seek experienced perioperative staff with expertise in Orthopaedic theatres and all perioperative specialties, including Anaesthetics, Recovery, Scrub, and Healthcare Support Workers, to support this development at GGH and IRH.
We offer opportunities to broaden your skills and knowledge across a diverse range of cases. Our dedicated GGC education teams will support your learning and professional development in perioperative roles.
You should be a First Level Registered Nurse trained in general or adult nursing, or a Registered Operating Department Practitioner. Experience in Scrub/theatre practice, Anaesthetics, or Recovery is essential.
As a multidisciplinary team member, you will assess care needs, develop care plans, and ensure high-quality patient care in the perioperative department. The role requires initiative, teamwork, and flexibility to work across a seven-day service, including out-of-hours shifts.
The South Sector & Clyde Theatres participate in a dual training program supported by the GGC Centre of Clinical Perioperative Excellence. Post-registration education will be provided by the Perioperative Education Teams, with access to relevant training and development opportunities.
Where necessary, you will engage in multi-site working within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde South Sector to meet service needs.
As part of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s pre-employment checks, evidence of current NMC/HCPC registration must be provided before the start date.
