Job summary

HID Global in Cardiff, UK seeks a Staff Engineer Dev Test (Biometrics) to drive CI/CD pipeline development, test automation, and end-to-end validation across devices and software. You will bridge DevOps and QA Validation to deliver scalable testing frameworks and automated environments for rapid, high-quality releases.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent or suitable experience.
• +7 years of related industry experience.
• Experience designing and carrying out device testing and embedded FW.
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux environments.
• Experience with SQL queries to validate data ingestion.
• Experience in scripting and Jira or similar programs.
• Experience with Agile and Lean Methodologies.
• Ability to write complex coded test solutions.
• Familiar with SBCs and control of sensors/relays/ motors.
• Knowledge of testing methodologies: DDT, BDD, TDD, AT, Unit, Performance/Reliability.
• Experience of Systems and Systems Integration testing including End-2-End testing.

Responsibilities

• Own technical design for projects of moderate complexity.
• Establish and maintain scalable CI/CD testing framework.
• Develop automated test environments and smoke/sanity tests.
• Monitor and triage CI/CD pipeline test failures.
• Design and document new CI/CD infrastructure for features.
• Coordinate with external test facilities to cover gaps.
• Communicate test results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Project manage with technical leadership to achieve team goals.
