Job summary

HID Global is seeking a Senior DevTest Engineer Biometrics in Cardiff to lead automated testing within CI/CD for biometric devices and embedded firmware. You will architect scalable test environments, define test cases, and drive high-quality release automation across software and hardware boundaries.

The role emphasizes hands-on design, collaboration with DevOps and QA Validation, and mentoring junior engineers as you scale testing capabilities in a global organization.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent experience in software/firmware testing.
• Minimum of +4 years of related industry experience.
• Prior experience with device testing, embedded firmware, software testing.
• Experience with cloud and IaC: AWS/Azure, Terraform, Docker, CI/CD integration.
• Test-as-code and NUnit or similar test frameworks.
• Specific experience with biometric devices and test orchestration tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a scalable automated test strategy within CI/CD.
• Monitor, triage and resolve CI/CD pipeline test failures.
• Build and document updated CI/CD infrastructure for new features.
• Define Test Cases and Test Plans from product specs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to validate requirements and test coverage.
• Lead testing activities for biometric devices and HW/SW integration.
