ITM Power in Sheffield is seeking aDevelopment Engineer to join the Stack Design and Verification team. You will design and prototype full-scale PEM electrolyser stacks, develop skid frames and mounting components, and generate CAD models, drawings and BOMs for manufacture.

Reporting to the Head of Stack Development, you will perform structural and thermal analyses, support prototype builds, and collaborate across electrochemistry, systems, and manufacturing to optimise performance and

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent is required.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD and GD&T for mechanical assemblies.
• Hands-on prototype development, fabrication and testing experience.
• Experience with mechanical frames, pressure systems and skids.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical design and development of full-scale PEM electrolyser stack assemblies and clamping systems.
• Design and prototype stack components, skid frames, compression structures, manifolds and piping interfaces.
• Develop CAD models, engineering drawings, BOMs and manufacturing documentation.
• Perform structural, thermal and mechanical analysis for stack and frame integrity.
• Support prototype builds, assembly, commissioning and testing activities.
• Collaborate with electrochemistry, systems, manufacturing and test engineering teams.
• Interface with suppliers and fabrication partners for prototyping.
